Animal Antics

Here are some images of wacky, and not so wacky, wildlife and some of the damage they do when they decide to get into trouble.

This is my assistant, and son, who is helping to restrain a fawn that was attacked by either feral dogs or a coyote. The fawn is fine and is being treated by Wildlife Rehabilitator Jen Lewis.
My children posing with the catch of the day. Three raccoons and 6 opossum. Only see one opossum, the other 5 are in moms pouch.
A young opossum on its way to Wildlife Rehabilitator Jen Lewis.

Baby Skunk

Bat guano in attic vent. Guano carries histoplasmosis and bat urine promotes toxic spores.
Four groundhog pups all taken together from the same litter. They are doing great.
Little skunk who liked being picked up, and I only smelled for a week!!

On 03/16/08 the Iguana pictured above was removed from the Motel 6, at the request of the Lewiston Police Department, after being abandoned by its owners.

I will not do it again, I promise! Now, LET ME OUT!!!

5 baby raccoons that were removed from a bathroom ceiling. They are sound asleep.

Never attempt to handle wildlife, no matter how friendly they appear. The little raccoon in the above picture looks cute, but in reality, he was attacking my glove with enough force to sever a finger.

Raccoon damage

The picture on the left shows what a family of raccoons can do when they decide to move into your home. Seasonal properties are very susceptible to damage by invading wildlife. Nuisance wildlife caused in excess of 2 Billion dollars worth of damage to homeowners in the United States in 2007.
